Our Journey to Virginia

So since we need to travel to Virginia, we thought we'd make a little adventure out of it. We're giving ourselves over 2 weeks to make the trek across the country. Please pray that our truck has no major issues on this long travel. It is an older truck and it will be pulling our 33' 5th wheel. We have never traveled very far with it, so needless to say, we're just a little nervous. But we also have faith that God is paving the way for us, and will be with us every step of the way.

Our first stop is to go from Bullhead, AZ to Chandler. It will be my first time meeting some friends that Greg knows. I am excited to meet them as I have heard great things about them, and know that they will be a great encouragement to us as we journey onward.

From Arizona we'll be heading into Texas to stop by and see some of our dear friends from Big Bear, the Barneys. Again, it will be great to have their blessings, prayers and encouragement for the trip and our new lives as missionaries.

After Texas, we are going to continue along through the swamp lands and along the Gulf of Mexico, and this is what I am really looking forward to. I can't wait to see the beaches along the coast of the gulf and into Florida.

From Florida we head upward to South Carolina. We will be staying at an RV park in Santee, which is ironic, because Santee (California) is where we started our RV journey.

I am hoping to meet up with a friend, a brother in the faith and missionary who is a Pastor. I happened to meet him through Instagram on a YWAM page. I started reading his blog and bought
his book "The Good Father" and it will be great to meet him face to face and talk to him about how hard it was to move his family to Congo, Africa in the 80's. And about his current missionary work in Mali.

And of course, after that we finally arrive in Virginia and begin our training through CRI's ARC school to become mercy missionaries.

We covet everyone's prayers as we begin this journey in the middle of August. We promise to create updates videos along the way, which will be posted to our youtube channel.

Blessings and love to all,
Kate

  1. I'm so excited for you guys. I totally get being nervous about towing the trailer that far. When we drove cross country the first day we were nervous because our truck is old as well. But God took care of everything and we made it safe. I know he will do the same for you guys. I'm so excited for you guys to go on your new adventure. If you go through raleigh let me know and we can get lunch or something. Or you can come over and we could cook for you guys. Safe travels.
